How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the number of adults and children.
  2. Fill in the menu price per adult and what percentage you pay for a child.
  3. Add separately paid drinks, service charges and vendors who eat at the venue.
  4. Add fixed fees, such as the hall or the cake service fee.
  5. Read the total, the cost per guest and the table showing what plus or minus 10 guests does.

Practical tips

  • Ask what the price includes

Ask in writing whether the price includes drinks, VAT, service, the cake and vendor meals. Small per-person differences become large sums at 100 guests.

  • Check the venue minimum

Some venues require a minimum number of guests or a minimum spend. If your list falls under it, you pay the minimum anyway.

  • Children are negotiable

Many restaurants charge 50 percent for children and nothing for the very young. Ask for the terms by age.

  • Confirm the final number two weeks out

Online invitations with RSVP give you the real count, so you do not pay for empty seats.

How we calculate, and where the numbers come from

The total adds adults times the menu price, children at the chosen percentage, vendors at the table (usually at half price), separately paid drinks and fixed fees. Percentage charges apply to every per-person price.

Cost per guest divides the total by everyone seated, adults and children. That is why it comes out higher than the quoted price: vendors, fees and the hall count too.

The scenario table recalculates the total for 10 and 20 more or fewer adults, everything else unchanged. One more adult costs their price, with fees and drinks.

2026 market reference points: Romanian press puts menus at 350 to 550 RON per person, and 80 to 100 euro in big cities. We do not use them to calculate for you: everything in the result is what you enter.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding menu cost in 2026?

Romanian press points to 350 to 550 RON per person for 2026, and 80 to 100 euro in big cities, with premium menus above 150 euro. The price depends on the venue, the number of courses and drinks.

How do I work out the total from the menu?

Multiply adults by the adult price, add children at the percentage asked, vendors at the table and fixed fees. The calculator does it and also shows the cost per guest.

Do I pay for children?

Usually yes, at a percentage of the adult menu, often 50 percent. The very young often eat free. Check the venue's terms.

Do vendors eat at the wedding?

Typically the photographer, videographer and band are fed at a reduced price. The calculator lets you enter how many and includes them in the total.

How much do I save by cutting ten guests?

The table shows the exact difference for your list. Beyond the menu price, fewer seats can change the hall or the decor.
